Data supplied by Clackmannanshire Council
in 2005
Clackmannanshire Council claim that there are no Common Good assets in Alloa.
In the Municipal Corporations in Scotland report of 1836 (Part III) it is stated that "The town, as such, has no Property or Revenue, and owes no debt."
Common Good Fund
Alloa may or may not have a Common Good Fund. The Annual Accounts of Clackmannanshire Council for 2005-06 consolidate all Common Good Funds which have a total balance of £30,000.
My Commentary
Alloa is almost certain to have Common Good assets in the form of land, property and moveables. We require some local research. For example, Greenfield House, in Greenfield Park was sold to Alloa Town Council according to the Clackmannan Council's website. It forms the headquarters of the Council and may be a Common Good asset.
