Data supplied by East Renfrewshire Council
in 2005
In May 2005, East Renfrewshire Council claimed not to hold any Common Good land. The one 1947 Act burgh within the Council area is Barrhead.
Common Good Fund
There is no mention of any Barrhead Common Good Fund in the Annual Accounts of East Renfrewshire Council 2005-06.
My Commentary
Further research is required but a look at the Council's own website reveals land and property that should belong to the Common Good Fund. It includes for example Cowan Park - a gift to the town from Mr James Cowan. (source: www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/barrheadheritagetrail/the_trail/cowan_park.htm)
