Data supplied by Perth & Kinross Council in
2005
Perth & Kinross Council supplied no information on the Common Good assets of Kinross. On 14 November 2005, I was advised by email in response to a further Freedom of Information request that,
"I have now been advised that there is no knowledge of any landed property held by the respective common good committees for the above areas." (Aberfeldy, Blairgowrie & Kinross)
Common Good Fund
Kinross has a Common Good Fund with a balance of £1,000 at 31 March 2006.
My Commentary
The Kinross COmmunity Council have been active in opposing the proposed sale of the Town Hall and Library, assets which are now admitted to be Common Good. See their webpage for full details including interesting legal material.
Perth & Kinross Council are currently undertaking a review of Common Good assets.
At the Perth and Kinross Council Strategic Policy and Resources Committee of 13 December 2006, it was resolved,
"that the Executive Director (Corporate Services) be instructed to carry out a review to identify all the common good property held by the Council, to make recommendations about the management and to consider whether such an exercise could be funded from the various common good funds."
On 24 September 2007, the Council advised me that "the programming of this exercise is still under discussion, together with how it will be resourced."
