Data supplied by North Lanarkshire Council
in 2005
North Lanarkshire Council, in response to our request for information on the Common Good assets of Motherwell & Wishaw, responded on 12 May 2005 by saying that ,
"I regret to advise you that the cost of complying with your request would exceed the amount prescribed in the regulations made by Scottish Ministers."
In other words, they have not got the information and to find out would be too costly.
Common Good Fund
There is no mention of any Motherwell & Wishaw Common Good Funds in the Annual Accounts of North Lanarkshire Council for 2005-06.
My Commentary
We need further information on the Common Good assets of Motherwell & Wishaw. The fact that the Council does not know what Common Good assets (if any) belong to the town is unacceptable.
