There was no record of any Common Good Fund in the following 5 burghs
  • Dalbeattie
  • Langholm
  • Moffat
  • New Galloway
  • Newton-Stewart
Further research is required and the Council should review the status and management of Common Good Funds to determine why 8 burghs apparently have no Common Good assets (despite 3 of them - Lockerbie, Whithorn and Wigtown - having heritable property noted in their Common Good Fund Accounts) and why 5 of the burghs have no Common Good Fund.
