East Lothian Council scores 5/10.

It provided a very detailed list of Common Good assets for Musselburgh and
Dunbar including land leased out and recent disposals. However, only one property was recorded in Haddington, two in North Berwick and no assets at all in
  • Cockenzie and Port Seton
  • East Linton
  • Prestonpans
  • Tranent
In other words, half of the Council's 8 burghs apparently have no assets. Common Good Funds are reported in the accounts for Dunbar, Haddington, Musselburgh and North Berwick but not for Cockenzie & Port Seton, East Linton, Tranent or Prestonpans.

Further research is required and the Council should review the status and management of Common Good Funds to determine why the above 5 burghs apparently have no Common Good assets and 3 have no Fund.
